Prince August Bonus Starter Kits released.

Prince August has introduced 4 new type of starter kits, which proved very popular in our Visitor Centre in Cork. Two are Irish Wild Geese Soldier kits, and the others are The Brave Tin Soldier Kit and Fairy Starter Kit.

These are larger than the regular 22.50 Euro starter kits. Prices start at 30 Euro.
The difference is these kits contain 2 metal clamps (instead of elastic bands in the smaller kits), paint brush and 10 pots of paint. They also contain the relevant moulds, casting ladle, support boards and 1 bar of metal that the other kits contained. These are more comprehensive for gifts.

http://www.miniwargaming.com/content/friday-afternoon-figures-mithril-miniatures

I discovered this little gem via google. I wish they had contacted me directly.
Still it was a good review and from a outside perspective.
Apart from thinking we are in the U.K. its fairly accurate.

Mithril LOTR The White Council release: November 2010.

Amazing!, Stunning!, Incredible! Words fail to describe how wonderful the new Lord of the Rings miniature box set released in November 2010 by Mithril Miniatures is. Filled with detail lovingly crafted by our whizz sculptor, Chris Tubb. There are 5 characters, Gandalf the Grey, Saruman the White, Elrond, Galadriel and Cirdan, as well as 8 chairs, a large inscribed base and a matching table with 4 legs. It will be packed in a beautiful blue box. All for just 64.95 Euro.

The website has loads of photos from different angles and a downloadable pdf assembly guide (also included in the box).

"The White Council was formed in the Third-age to counter the re-emergence of the Dark Lord in Middle-earth. Its members comprised the Istari and the Wise amongst the Elven folk and Saruman was appointed as its head. Its first meeting was called by Galadriel in order to decide how best to discover the identity of the Necromancer of Mirkwood. By its second meeting in T.A. 2851 Saruman had already been corrupted by the Dark-lord through use of the Palantir and he blocked Gandalf's proposed attack on Dol Guldur.

The diorama depicts this second meeting of the White council in which Gandalf is proposing the attack to an unbending Saruman, while Galadriel, Elrond and Cirdan look on."

November release of 10 more Warzone Mutant Chronicles miniatures

Prince August has been working on many new releases as Christmas approaches like a out of control locomotive, and one of these are available today. 10 MORE warzone mutant chronicles 28mm scale metal miniatures that enhance the battle grounds of the Warzone game collectors everywhere.

Many are specialists that enhance and add sparkle to a squad, like a sniper or medic but one of the rarest figures in the Warzone universe is finally available. It has never been available on http://www.warzone-chronopia.com/ before so its sure to get players excited. The Gray Ghost (or is it Grey Ghost?). This loner goes behind enemy lines to make their lives hell, and does it exceedingly well with Infiltrate and Camouflage as just two of her skillsets.

This is the last Warzone releases in 2010. If you missed out on any of these in blister format, you can at least get them in plastic bags now. However, as always, these are limited in quantity. So they can sell out at ANY time. If thats not a reason to do your Christmas shopping early I don't know what is.

Toy Soldier Factory Halloween Family Fun Day Review

Prince August Toy Soldier Factory ran on October 31st 2010 their 2nd Family Fun Day.
Hundreds of people turned up, and many children enjoyed the Cast and Paint Workshops as well as the re-enactment battles.
I made a video of one of the battles that occured during the day. The World War 2 soldier re-enactors are showing what happened late in the war when the Germans were looking for fuel for their war effort. The British are defending a fuel dump from the German riders.
The children around me had a positive reaction to the experience, cheering and laughing and generally finding the day memorable. What more can any event hope to accomplish?

If you missed out on this event, then you may wish to sign up to the Prince August Newsletter to avoid it happening again.
Prince August also has a facebook page, so if you are into this social network craze then become a fan today.

10.10.10 Once in a Lifetime Date Celebrated with Massive Sale.

This Sunday, 10th of October, it will be a unique date in your calendar. The 10th of the 10th of 2010. Never will you see this kind of date occur again so Prince August is celebrating this with an exciting 27.1% off EVERYTHING they stock on their 3 websites: Prince August, Mithril Miniatures and Warzone-Chronopia.

All the discounts will be taken off when you go to the shopping basket checkout. The only requirement is your order is at least 30 Euro in value (excluding shipping). Considering the amount of discount being given this is very fair as it just keeps the final total above their minimum order requirement.

The sale starts on the 7th and ends at 10:00 GMT on the 11th of October.

One final note: Why 27.1%? Its an odd amount to have as a discount. But it is based on taking 3x10% off the customer's order (10% off initial order then 10% off that total, and a final 10% off the remaining amount.) which works out at 27.1%. Discounts are automatic so you don't have to wait.

LOTR August 2010 Releases: Hurin The Tall & Dunlending Musician

Mithril has released at the end of August 2010 two new miniatures as part of the Fellowship club series. Hurin the Tall is the Warden of the Keys of Minas Tirith.

The Dunlending Musician used his carnyx instrument to signal orders to the Dunlending horde, as well as to demoralise the enemy and raise moral of their own armies.
Saruman stirred up a lot of racial mistrust and old hatred between the Dunlending wildmen and the people of Rohan, and during the War of the Rings they plundered and destroyed as they marched across Rohan before eventually being defeated.
As with all Fellowship miniatures released since 2005, these were suggested by club members and voted on in a monthly poll on the Mithril forum.
If you want your idea to become reality join the Fellowship club today.

2 NEW LOTR Fellowship miniatures released.

Mithril Miniatures has just released 2 more 32mm scale metal miniatures based on the races of Middle-earth from the The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books.
Narvi the Dwarven Stonemason was responsible for carving the doors of Moria. This beautiful miniature shows him diligently sculpting and carving away another pillar.

The Sindarin Bard is one of the ruling minority of Elves that reside in places like Mirkwood Forest. Legolas was a Sindarin Elf for example. Bards were honoured professionals amoung the music loving Elves, and with their long lives and massive history they were never short of material for their songs and tales.

Both miniatures are primed and ready to paint. Some assembly is required.
These were the February and March 2010's winning ideas from the Fellowship Club. They were suggested and voted on by the members of that club.
If you want to take part in the next months ideas then join the club today for only 20.90 Euro, and gain a free miniature (Aragorn and the Palantir) and 5 Tengwar magazines (filled with information on the Mithril vision of Middle-earth).
